Xiaomi SU7 debuts with record-breaking pre-orders

Xiaomi's first car model, the SU7, has set a new record for pre-orders in China, with over 50,000 units reserved within 27 minutes of its launch on February 9, 2023. The pre-orders reached nearly 90,000 units within 24 hours.

The strong demand for the SU7 is attributed to several factors, including Xiaomi's brand recognition, the car's competitive price, and its impressive features.

The SU7 is a mid-size pure electric SUV with a sleek and futuristic design. It features a closed-off front grille, flanked by narrow LED headlights, and a full-width taillight at the rear. The interior is equipped with a 14.6-inch central control screen and a 10.25-inch LCD instrument panel, powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8295 chip.

In terms of performance, the SU7 boasts a dual-motor powertrain with a maximum power output of 410 kilowatts and a peak torque of 650 newton-meters. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. The SU7 is equipped with a 100kWh ternary lithium battery pack, providing a CLTC-rated vehicle range of up to 700 kilometers.
